Space Academy
When you visit the Space Centre you can earn a badge with your "Astronaut Wings" that you can keep and take home.
This activity is aimed at children but is suitable for all ages from pre-school to adult. To earn a badge you must complete challenges to earn credits. The challenges are paper based and include treasure hunts, quizzes, crosswords, etc. You don't have to do all the challenges—you can choose which ones to do to get enough credits.
You can earn only one badge per visit but you can choose which rank to get.
- Earn three credits to get a "cadet" badge.
- Earn six credits to get a "senior cadet" badge.
- Earn twelve credits to get an "ensign" badge.
At this stage "ensign" is the highest rank you can earn. In the future we plan to run special evening sessions for those who want to earn a higher rank such as lieutenant, captain, etc. Please let us know if you're interested in this.
