BOINC Research
Te Awamutu Space Centre runs a number of BOINC projects.
BOINC (Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) is a "distributed computing" platform used to conduct scientific research. Scientists provide packets of data that need to be analyzed and distribute these packets to volunteers around the world, who use their own computers to perform the required calculations and return the results.
