The Scattered Disc
The Scattered disc is a region of space in the outer part of our Solar System, far beyond the main planets and even farther than the Kuiper belt.
Facts About The Scattered Disc:
- The scattered disc appears to be made up of small, icy celestial bodies.
- Objects in the disk have extreme orbits and appear to be scattered, most likely by gravity from the gas giant planets.
- Objects in the disc can be anywhere from 30 au to over 100 au from the Sun (up to 100 times the distance from the Sun to Earth).
