  • Sedna is located in the outer reaches of the Solar System. It is 86 times as far from the Sun as Earth, and 3 times as far from the Sun as Neptune.
  • Its surface is a mixture of water, methane, and nitrogen ices with tholins.
  • It is one of the reddest objects in the Solar System.

Naming:  Named after the Inuit goddess of the sea, who is thought to live at the bottom of the frigid Arctic Ocean.
