AIM Launch Video

NASA's AIM satellite was launched on April 25, 2007 aboard an Orbital Sciences Pegasus XL rocket, from beneath the L-1011 carrier aircraft.

AIM is on a two-year research mission to explore mysterious ice clouds on the edge of space around Earth's polar regions. Some scientists have suggested these clouds could be increasing in number and brightness, perhaps due to climate change.
