Titania

Titania is the largest of the moons of Uranus and the eighth largest moon in the Solar System.

  • It is the 17th moon from Uranus.
  • It is composed of roughly equal amounts of ice and rock.
  • There may be a layer of liquid water deep underground.
  • It is covered in impact craters up to 326 km wide, as well as many canyons and scarps.

Discovered:  1787  by William Herschel
Naming:  Named after the queen of the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
